This is great timing for the Brut campaign and could really boost sales as he is one of the most favoured ever England players.

Beckham Idea!
I thought of using David Beckham in my poster designs and this is because of the recent rumours of him returning to the premier league. This will fit in with Brut well as he is one of England's favourite football players and with Brut returning and him doing the same if could be a great advertising campaign!
Brut Slogans!
To start off with u decided to use the slogan that Brut use at the moment for themselves. When researching the company I noticed on the website they have 'MAN UP' on one of their advertisements.
This is the first poster i designed with the slogan 'MAN UP!.'
The second slogan i thought of but wasn't sure on it being final was 'Brut is back and so is Hulk!'.
I wasn't sure on this slogan but is does apply to both Brut and also Hulk as he makes a return in his latest film 'The Avengers.' I decided against the previous slogan and decided to use one of the hulks known slogans 'Unleash the Beast!'.
I then had to think of a slogan for the David Beckham poster and there was only one possible. I had to include the famous 'Bend It Like Beckham'.

First Idea!
The first poster idea I designed was a simple but effective poster idea. This was to have a black background with the Brut aftershave bottle and then a green outer glow to make it stand out.
The poster also includes Brut's latest motto 'MAN UP' along with the Brut logo in the bottom corner. I feel this poster is effective as it will stand out and catch a readers attention in a magazine for example. This does not only appeal to men but also women seeing this poster could then buy Brut for their partners which also an advantage of not entirely focusing the advertisement towards a male audience.
Hulk Idea!
As Brut is making a comeback from when it used to be a top selling aftershave and idea I've thought of is using the hulk. I feel this is a good idea due to the release of The Avengers and the comeback of the hulk in the film. This can also relate to the 'manly' effect that Brut has as hulk is a very strong character.
The hulk can also be related to Brut as he's green which is also the main colour that Brut uses. This would be a great idea to use on posters as the hulk is a very popular character in The Avengers and will definitely attract a lot of male attention to the poster.

Brut Aftershave Posters!
I decided that I was going to create some advertising posters for Brut so I began to research posters they had used in the past. Here are 2 of the posters that I found:
These posters mainly use dark colours as well as green so I wanted to use the same colour scheme as green seem to be included in every poster. The black background and bright green really stands out and makes the poster stand out so that's another advantage of using their colour scheme.
Brut Aftershave Adverts!
To start off my research for Brut I began too look at past video adverts they had used when they used to be one of the top selling aftershave companies. These targeted a very 'manly' audience included famous sports players at the time and famous female models. These were used to make all men feel that it's ok to wear aftershave and it's not feminine.
This commercial has Kevin Keegan and Henry Cooper and will appeal to a lot of males as they were among to top English sportsmen of that time. Kevin Keegan was a top footballer who captained the England international team from 1976-1982 and would of been loved by many football fans at the time. Henry Cooper was a heavyweight boxer and nothing gets more manly that that! Having him in the advert definitely makes Brut seem like something every male would be proud to use.
Another advert that Brut used starred Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne and everyone knows him as being one of England's great footballers.
The advert has him apply Brut aftershave and then go outside to a construction site where he conducts all the workmen with a wrench to have them make a tune from the equipment they are using. This is seen as manly as all the construction workers are using tools. Using Paul Gascoigne was also a very good idea as many people really look up at him as he was one on England's greatest footballers at the time.
The third commercial I looked at starred Kelly LeBrock, an actress and supermodel. In the advert she explains what is good in a man and ends on how he smells. Then a screen pops up with Brut 'THE ESSENCE OF MAN.'
Kelly LeBrock is used in this advert as she was one of the top models at the time and would of been the ideal women for a lot of men. This would catch their attention and then to see she's advertising Brut as 'the essence of man' will make them want to use it. These 3 commercials show that Brut advertising was made as 'manly' as possible!
